The simple solution to loosing weight (that your not doing)

 

Change your thinking!!!!

Ok, i can hear the cries now

“for fuck sake i opened this for that, that’s the stupidest thing i have ever heard”

but bear with me a moment while i make my point

look if you’re reading this your reading it for a few reasons

and one of them is

you are tired of trying everything and still looking and feeling the same

and if you are like any of my girls, you struggle a lot with self belief

and a constant knawing self doubt

and let me ask you this?

are you always criticizing yourself?

do you find your forever saying things like

“you’ll never change’
‘nothing ever works for me’
i’ll just put the weight back on’
‘typical me’

or my favourite

‘your always going to be this way’

sounds familiar right

but have you ever stopped to think how thinking like this

is actually constantly leading you to self sabotage

you see when you criticize yourself, give out to yourself and constantly come down on yourself

you are actually pushing yourself to repeat the exact behaviours that made you get angry in the first place

take a girl who turns to ben and jerry’s cookie dough for comfort when she’s upset

the reason you turn to certain foods is because somewhere in your past you associate it with being happy

so what happens is

you have had a bad day

your boss was a dick
you saw a pic of your ex on facebook
and you are feeling fat and bloated, cause your work trousers are bursting at the seems
and you swear you look 20 pounds heavier than yesterday

so naturally you want to make yourself feel better
so your brain thinks (i know lets get ice cream, it doesn’t know whats good or bad for you, it just thinks it makes you happy)

and after a bit of internal struggle, you cave and get it

(but you’ll just have a few spoons)

you feel good momentarily

but then that guilt kicks in

now that self critic pipes up

‘there you go again stuffing your face, your never gonna change’

and it goes on like that

but now you feel worse, much worse and now your brain is in overdrive with the sole mission of trying to think of ways to quickly cheer you up again

and what’s the fastest and easiest way to do this

the rest of that tub of ben aand jerry’s that is in the freezer calling your name

oh and theres a jar of nutella in the press too (thanks brain)

so although we often think criticizing ourselves and giving out to ourselves is the best way to keep us under control

it in fact is quite often driving us straight down the road we don’t want to go

so can you see how in this situation a shift in thinking could actually save your waistline

you know it is very hard to change our behaviours without changing our thinking

and as i have said before, changing how you view yourself is one of the biggest and most effective elements of shape up

so what is one of the simplest ways to start changing this cycle

forgiveness

(not the wishy washy kind)
