If Only They Knew
This may piss you off
This may inspire you
But one thing is for sure
It’s the bloody TRUTH
your children look up to you
In fact……
They lookup to you like your a hero
I always remember looking at mine like they were my hero’s
And even as I’ve gotten older I still see my parents as the first role models that I ever had
When boys are young you usually hear them say
I wanna be just like daddy when I grow up
And the same for the girls
I wanna be just like my mum
But
If only they knew
If only they knew what their hero was really like
What if I fail
What if I’m not fit enough
What if I embarrass myself
What if people look at me
What if it’s too hard
What if I can’t do it
What if people look at me
I wonder what they would think then ?
Of their hero that’s too afraid to click here and finally do what she said she would
Their hero that says she wants to set a better example for them but continues to do nothing about it
Their hero that says she wants to get fitter so that she can have more energy to play with them but never follows through
Imagine how devastating it would be to find that out about your hero
And I’m well aware that right now I could be seriously offending you
And I’m glad
Because maybe it will be the slap across the face you bloody need
To wake up and stop lying to yourself
And be the kind of mum they can really look up to
Because you keep telling me that’s what you want
But guess what
At the end of the day it’s your ACTIONS that REALLY show what you’re actually committed to
