Andie and I went into town on Sunday
Had a little look around the shops
She got my birthday present
And I had a little look to see what I’m getting my members for Christmas
Then we went for lunch in póg
Andie’s a BIG fan of hot chocolate and we’ve been doing a little hot chocolate tour of Dublin
Trying different places so that she can see which is her favourite
And Sunday it was the Nutella hot chocolate in poóg
Which she LOVED
Now...
You’re probably reading this thinking why is a personal trainer taking his girlfriend for a Nutella hot chocolate, isn’t that bad?
But here’s the thing
There is no inherently bad food
the REAL problem is how we label foods
seeING foods as either being good or bad is what creates the real problem
A better way of looking at it is optimal and less optimal
And you’re trying to fill the optimal basket more than the less optimal
We actually use a system in shape up where no food is banned, no food is bad, and no food is not allowed
You just categorize them as more often, sometimes, less often
And this is a powerful system
As it helps people change the way they see certain foods
Like I said at the beginning it’s actually the labeling of foods as good/bad, allowed/not allowed
That causes the biggest problem
Just think of how much it effects you when you think of going on a diet and then the very next thought is usually thinking of all the things you can’t have and have to give up
Which makes you think how hard it’s gonna be and actually makes you want these foods even more
Not only that
It ends up making you have an unhealthy relationship with food
And the only way I know to have long term success with how you look and feel is to have a healthy relationship with your food and yourself
