The Comfort Zone Is A MYTH - Perceptions

The Comfort Zone Is A MYTH

Part of making changes such as exercising or eating healthier requires us to leave our ‘comfort zone’

As when we have to do things that our different to what we usually do.

Do things we consider difficult.

Do things that feel uncertain.

It scares the life out of us.

You may very well want to start exercising and eating better.

You may know well that you need to sort your shit out so that you can feel good about yourself again.

Despite this...

Doing that feels uncomfortable.

You may not like where you are now, but to some degree it feels safe.

Because you know what to expect.

And to some degree you actually feel comfortable where you are because of this.

But here’s the thing about this "comfort zone" you’re in.

It’s a fucking myth it doesn’t exist

Tell me what about your life right now feels comfortable...

You wake up most days and feel awful when you feel bloated and tired and rundown.

You get angry and upset because your clothes don’t fit.

You feel awful that you hide behind baggy clothes.

You have no energy.

You feel like you’re letting yourself and your family down.

You feel like a failure.

You barely ever go out anymore and when you do you spend most of the night in bad form because you couldn’t find anything nice and you feel like a horrible and uncomfortable in what you’re wearing.

And you’re terrified your partner doesn’t find you attractive anymore (because you certainly don’t think you are)

Tell me....

What’s comfortable about that?

Yea you can convince yourself you’re fine or it’s grand or whatever.

You can tell yourself it’s not that bad.

But you know deep down it’s a load of bolocks.

You know how unhappy you are with the way things are.

You know that you’re not really comfortable at all, and that things desperately need to change.

And yea I get how making changes can seem scary and uncomfortable.

But you’re not really that comfortable now are you...

And you certainly don’t feel comfortable.

Not in yourself.

Not in your clothes.

Not in your relationships.

Can you see that?

Can you see how this "comfort zone" you’re so afraid to leave is just a myth.

That It doesn’t exist.

That all you’re really doing by avoiding making the changes is giving yourself a lifetime of pain and frustration.

If you don’t leave the "comfort zone" you stay stuck feeling like you do now.

And you don’t want that.

Do you?

Of course not.

So, it’s time to do something.

It’s time to drop the story, drop the excuses, and give yourself a kick up the backside.
