Lets be honest with each other here
we have both done it
I even remember as a child my mum had a press where she kept sweets chocolate, crisps etc
which she was the only one allowed to go near or touch
but of course I would always sneak chocolate pop tarts out of it
I even remember times when trying to get lean and getting mad cravings and feeling like a was sneaking food because i didn’t want to look bad for having it on a diet
now as harmless as that may seem
It can get dangerous as we get older
It can be very hard to solve problems when they’re being done in private
You see quite often certain foods are considered bad and forbidden
and ironically but not funnily enough this ends up making us want them even more
and when you through in things like emotional issues that are causing the bad relationship with food
it can get dangerous and lead to things like eating disorders
which i have a lot of experience with as my little sister has one
but without getting to that level it is dangerous for you mentally and physically
lets take a few examples
say you are going on a diet
or
even now it is lent so I am sure you have declared you have given something up
and in these situations there are always partiular foods we try to eliminate
now say you are someone who is:
very self conscious about your appearance, so you become very aware of what your eating in front of people
or
have publicly declared i am off this or i am on a diet, so you do not want to look stupid
and even when you have a huge emotional attachment to a certain food
It is in these types of situations where very very easily it can develop into something really unhealthy
where you are sneaking off to eat chocolate in private
where you feel like you are bad or wrong for having or wanting the food, so you try to cover it up or feel very guilty about it
and in my position i do deal with these types of scenarios a lot, so i always work very hard to make sure all of my ladies who lunge always know and feel they can trust me, so they can open up to me
because look we are lead to believe that we are bad if we give into temptation or cravings or emotions
or that we will be considered fat, lazy, greedy, bad, or weak because of it
and i always want my girls to know and that is you included
that I never view it that way
I understand that everybody has their own unique struggles
but i also know the only way to make big changes, is to be brutally honest about everything, especially with yourself
and that is why it is so important the ladies who lunge know they can trust me
so i can help them each individually overcome their biggest struggles in a way that works for them
to try and take away the good food/bad food stigma
to help then understand exactly how and what to eat to loose weight (without baning foods or counting calories)
to give them special tricks and tips on how to enjoy certain foods without feeling like you blew your diet or that you will pile on more weight
but also on how to have some self compassion and self acceptance so they are not always paranoid about weight or how they look so they can actually enjoy becoming the best they can be
